Vanity or Obedience?

Wanna know a secret??

I hate social media! 😒 However, in these times it is the biggest platform to use when you want to promote/advertise/ get the word out regarding your endeavors. So after seeking God, being pushed by family/ friends I decided to expand my blog to Instagram.

But why God would you want me to do that when I do NOT like being the center of attention (taking selfies/ videos/ or anything in abundance that may come across as vain)?? Are Christian influencers promoting vanity?

These are all questions that crossed my mind and possible distractions from the enemy. Of COURSE the devil doesn't want anyone spreading a message of God's love to the world, so he plants seeds of doubt-- and if you aren't careful they will sprout and bloom, preventing you from being obedient to Christ.

When doing anything for God, your heart must be pure!

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8).

Are you seeking the praises of men, or praise from God? (John 12:43). Are you doing it for the likes, followers, the clout....or to shine light on how great God is because you may be the only Bible some may read?

So is it vanity or obedience that Christian influencers promote?

It is obedience! God knows your heart, so whatever you do-- do it unto the Lord. As believers, we all have a calling-- your calling is how God created you to worship Him, serve Him, honor Him, and give glory to Him in everything that you do. I have to remind myself that whenever the enemy comes knocking (to throw me off course)... do not respond! Keep moving and be obedient to God-- carry out the assignment He has given me and He will get the glory out of it! I challenge you to do the same!!

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4: 1-3)
