Reclaiming Your IDentity

It's kinda hard these days not to get lost in society's standards of beauty. Society says sex sells and your worth is based on whether you have a "cute face, slim waist, and a" .... you know the rest! Do you second guess yourself in all that you do? Find yourself disliking the reflection in the mirror? You've got to RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY!

As God's children we were FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made in Christ's image, so that makes you pretty special! Don't fall for the comparison trap the enemy tries to throw your way. Start reminding yourself of all the unique things that make you unique, and learn how to be comfortable in your own skin.

Just in case you have forgotten, here are daily reminders:

  • You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Sol. 4:7)

  • She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (Prov. 31:25)

  • For we are God’s masterpiece… (Eph. 2:10)

  • God is within her, she will not fall (Ps. 46:5)

  • She is worth far more than rubies. (Prov. 31:10)

  • Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (1 Peter 3:3-4)

  • I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14)

So never forget your God-given identity, and don't try to change yourself to fit anyone's definition of beauty. Love on yourself daily, think on things that are true (God's word), and remind yourself by affirmations of self love if you have to.

Sincerely, #TeamIDentity
